Retinal Detachment

It can be an emergency situation in which a thin layer of tissue (the retina) at the back of the eye pulls away from the eye wall. Normally, the aging Vitreous Gel separates from the retina causing a break or a tear. Liquefied Vitreous is sucked in through the tear, separating the retinal cells from the layer of blood vessels that provides oxygen and nourishment to the eye.

The longer retinal detachment goes untreated, the greater your risk of permanent vision loss in the affected eye. Warning signs of retinal detachment may includes: reduced vision, a curtain covering your vision and the sudden appearance of floaters and flashes of light.

Over the past 20 Years, Dr Ferreira developed an outstanding surgical technique that repairs your retinal detachment, in the office, within 20 minutes, with an over 90% success rate, depending on the case.
